ROSTOCK
Medieval Rostock in springtime

One of the largest cities on Germany's Baltic coast today, Rostock was still a young settlement during the events of Runebound. Founded by Prince Pribislav and later developed under his son Henry Borwin I, the town grew from a Slavic trading center into an important port connecting

Mecklenburg to the wider Baltic world.

Its location along the Warnow River provided access to both inland trade routes and the sea, making Rostock a meeting place for merchants, travelers, and cultures from across Northern Europe and beyond. In the centuries that followed, it would become one of the most influential cities of the Hanseatic League and a major center of commerce in the Baltic region.
